My summer was divided in two distinct parts while working for two different branches of the military. I attended my Annual Training requirements with the United States Marine Corps in Twentynine Palms, CA supporting the Integrated Training Exercise (ITX). It was great to be around Marines once again. The training out in “the stumps” is second to none.
When I returned from the desert, I was placed on an Air Force project as an intern with Deloitte. My team was tasked with helping stand up the Mission Partner Capabilities Office (MPCO) for the Air Force. The MPCO will control the mission partner environment during contingencies around the world and various disaster relief efforts. They will help various agencies, NGOs, Allies, and foreign nations communicate effectively during times of crisis.
I worked on a Customer Analysis that analyzed all the various parties that would be interacting with the MPCO and how to effectively communicate with these parties. I helped conduct a Mission Analysis for the MPCO and was able to pull out various implied, explicit, and essential tasks for the MPCO to be successful.
My summer flew by and I was grateful to be able to continue working with the DoD. Deloitte showed me how military friendly a firm can be. I had a designated Veteran Mentor that helped guide me throughout the Summer and help land me on a DoD based project. It was great to explore another branch of the military and help out on a new mission.
