Blake Corbitt interned underneath the Chief Financial Officer of Family Health International (FHI) 360 for my summer internship. Family Health International is a global non-profit with over 4,000 professionals in 60 countries that seeks to provide positive social change through lifesaving healthcare, quality education, and opportunities for economic participation.
FHI 360 receives the majority of their funds through government grants. And Corbitt found particularly interesting to see how government money given to private non-profits can be used for the betterment of American foreign policy objectives.
Moreover, this was an extremely rewarding experience since he will be certified as a government comptroller, and the experiences under the Chief Financial Officer assisted in preparing him to think strategically about financial decisions.
